Often times, fillers or Botox can help improve areas that are not easily correctable by surgery, with excellent results. For wrinkles around the eyes or in the forehead, Botox is commonly used and can make a significant improvement. To correct smile lines (nasolabial folds), soft tissue fillers such as Juvederm can be used as well. Juvederm can also be used to fill the lips and vertical lines above and around the lips as well.

Fat injection has become a popular alternative for patients who are interested in a permanent soft tissue fill. During fat injection, otherwise known as fat grafting, Dr. Hirsch will harvest fat from a different part of your body and will inject it into the desired area. A significant portion of this fat will survive the transfer process, and it is possible that the volume restoration will be permanent!

Dr. Hirsch has extensive experience with the use of Botox and soft tissue fillers. At the time of your consultation, he will evaluate you and work with you to develop a treatment plan that will give you your most optimal result. Frequently asked questions about non-surgical facial rejuvenation:

How much downtime will I have after Botox?

In general, there isn’t very much bruising or pain with Botox injections. You should be able to return to work the same day as your injections.

Is fat injection permanent?

Yes, fat injection is a permanent way to increase soft tissue volume. In the face, up to 80-90% of fat cells may survive harvest and transfer, while in other parts of the body, only 50-60% of the fat will survive transfer.

When will the effects of Botox show? And how long will they last?

After a Botox injection, it usually takes 1-2 weeks for the injections to reach their full effects. Depending on dosing, the effects of Botox may last up to 6-8 months.
