Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP)

Platelet-rich plasma, or PRP, is one of the newest treatments available for Los Angeles skin care patients who are looking to rejuventate their skin.  This treatment, when combined with a microneedling procedure, both stimulates new collagen formation and adds growth factors to the skin, which helps improve both the overall skin quality and texture.

The first step in this treatment is to draw the patient's blood, and then centrifuge it in order to separate the platelet rich plasma from the rest of the cells.  Next, after numbing the face, the PRP is applied topically, and a microneedling treatment is performed to help inject it into the top layers of the skin.

Most patients will experience 1-3 days of redness after a PRP facial procedure.  We  recommend a post-procedure skin care protocol to help maximize the effects of the treatment and to speed recovery.  As the skin heals, Los Angeles PRP facial patients will quickly notice the rejuvenating effects of this treatment.  The skin becomes softer, and the combined effects of sun and aging fade.  As with other facial treatments, a series of treatments is often recommended to get the best effects from the procedure. Additionally, it is often beneficial to perform a microdermabrasion procedure immediately prior to the PRP facial to prepare the skin for optimal results.
